International Outreach- Education Digital Marketing Fellowship
(Full-time Possibility)
Location
Boston and/or New York or Beijing
Responsibilities
- Develop creative and execute digital marketing plans and campaigns through multiple channels, including earned media (organic search, influencer marketing, media relations, public relations) owned media (content marketing via email, social media, video and website development).
- Create a streamlined system for Chinese schools and families to access COGITA programs through web and wechat, educate the consumer, and connecting with our target market.
- Develop and lead implementation of mobile marketing campaigns through wechat, weibo and other social media channels
- Identify opportunities to increase engagement and stakeholder conversion for our primary external stakeholders, through maintenance and optimization of our digital marketing channels
- Research and write relevant articles on international students, Asian students, immigrant identity, global citizenship, college admission to create a visual education conservatory on social media for schools and families in China
- Produce videos to tell client and organization stories
- Assist with creating and conducting proposal presentations, brochures to students, and schools

Provide timely and accurate reports, feedback, and analyses on campaign performance

Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Act as a thought leader around ‘growth hacking’ opportunities and digital models that serve our desire for scalable and cost-effective growth
Qualification

- Excellent interpersonal and bilingual communications skills, ability to communicate effectively and professionally on site and remotely.
- 2-3 years of marketing and PR experience in education industry or related preferred but less experience but highly skilled candidate will be considered.
- Experience working with middle and high school students preferred.
- Experience in a wide range of social media platforms including WeChat (mainly), Facebook and Linkedin
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- A willingness to learn quickly, jump in and create for better change
- Can-do attitude, integrity, entrepreneurial spirit and growth mindset
Program Admission Advisors (Part-time)
Responsibilities
- Help middle school and high school international students (mainly Korean and Chinese students) with socio-cultural adjustments, which include but are not limited to admission process, school and social life adjustment, how to approach and communicate with teachers and fellow students, connections to conferences, events and performances related to student interests and etc.
- Spend time with student one on one through either skype or in-person, weekly to monthly, depending on the schedules of students and the advisor.
- Be a positive adult figure for international students whose parents are often not living with them.
- Counsel families on cultural competency within the US educational landscape.
- Support Cogita’s network of tutors, mentors, and advisors to initiate strong student development
Compensation
- Course Credit, hourly payment, all expense paid trips to various educational conferences, one-on-one mentoring about the educational sector both domestic and international, a growth in network that includes educators and schools from all over the world.
Educational Consultant (Full-time)
Location
Boston or Beijing or Shanghai, business trip to Boston headquarter as needed
Main Responsibilities
- To develop and expand Cogita’s customer base, particularly among new immigrants and Chinese speaking families
- To strengthen Cogita’s academic and social programs, particularly those most relevant to assisting the international student population
- To promote Cogita’s efforts in fostering high level critical thinking and developing a strong sense of integrity, empathy, and global citizenship
Related Tasks
Student Support
- Develop curriculum and academic programs to support all Cogita students, in particular those from international families.
- Serve as a solid role model for students both during and beyond working hours.
- Counsel and support students in the admissions process (research, school/college lists, brainstorming, essay review, application review).
- Develop, evaluate and optimize meaningful education action plan for Cogita’s students.
- Develop family education plan about US education system and the idea of “best fit” schools.
Development and Customer Service
- Seek out, counsel, and recruit Chinesespeaking families for Cogita’s services
- Foster partnerships and act as a liaison with our Chinese partners
- Assist with interpretations and providing cultural knowledge
- Foster partnerships and maintain good relationships with Cogita’s contacts all over the world (schools, programs and other stakeholders etc.)
Additional
- Lead, coordinate or provide assistance to special projects and initiatives to develop Cogita in its efforts to help students, families, and schools.
- Assist hiring interns and other personnel. Continue mentorship model within Cogita staff.
- Attend conferences, fairs, school meetings to continue to develop professionally.
- Assist with general administrative needs.
Qualification
Experience
A strong candidate has:
- Bilingual abilities in Mandarin and English
- Competence in both Chinese and American cultures
- A minimum of 2 years experience in teaching English Literature/Academic Writing, Has a A minimum of 4 years in secondary school and college admissions advising (preferred).
- Worked in schools or awareness and appreciation of school systems
- A minimum of a M.A or other graduate degree (mature and experienced Bachelor’s degree holders may also apply)
- Teaching experience in college entrance examinations (and understanding the context of these exams as it relates to education and identity development is a significant plus)
- Can-do attitude, integrity, entrepreneurial spirit and growth mindset

China Business Development Manager
(Full-time)

Role
As we are expanding our effort in China, we are very excited to welcome an aspiring, resourceful and entrepreneurial professional to join our cause in China and potentially run our office in Beijing. This position is suited for a confident, highly organized, technologically advanced professional, who has experience in global education as well as in the Chinese educational market. The role of the BD manager is a critical role for continued growth of Cogita. There is considerable potential to share our strong educational mission worldwide with both new and existing families and schools, instilling in students a sense of self, ethics, excellence, empathy, and high critical thinking skills. This growth will come both from geographical expansion and from developing our networks. The BD manager will be responsible for maximizing our network of relevant educational professionals, students, families, and schools.
Responsibilities
- Lead Cogita’s brand marketing in China by assisting with opening China office
- Recruit and sign new families seeking educational opportunities in the US, building relationships founded on trust and integrity
- Identify opportunities to increase engagement and stakeholder conversion for our primary external stakeholders, through maintenance and optimization of our digital marketing channels
- Analyze geographic and other parameters to assess stakeholder needs
- Create a streamlined system for Chinese schools and families to access COGITA programs.
- Create and maintain social media posts and e-newsletter including but not limited to Wechat and Weibo
- Create and coordinate online and offline events to engage potential students and families and convert leads to clients
- Design and proofread clear and engaging communications for print and web. This will include direct mail pieces, branded promotional items, website and social media content, blog posts, and other marketing materials as needed
- Provide timely and accurate reports, feedback, and analyses on Chinese initiatives
- Hire and supervise interns to assist promoting Cogita’s mission

Academic Tutors (Part-time)
Responsibilities
- Teach one-on-one class to middle school and high school students.
- Test prep subjects: SSAT, SAT, ACT with Writing, SAT Subject Tests, AP and TOEFL.
- Academic subjects: Mathematics, Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Computer Science, Academic Reading & Writing, History, Social Studies, Foreign Languages and other school subjects.
